The Magic of Niagara Grapes in Every Sip – Featuring Roaring Fork & Firefly
At Cades Cove Cellars, we believe wine is more than a beverage—it's a story in a bottle. And when that story begins with the crisp, aromatic Niagara grape, it’s one we’re especially proud to tell.
The Niagara Grape: A Homegrown Treasure
Originally developed in New York in the 1860s, the Niagara grape is a native American hybrid—a cross between Concord and Cassady varieties. It’s widely grown in the northeastern U.S. and Great Lakes regions, but its unique flavor profile and versatility make it a favorite for sweet wine lovers across the country.
These greenish-white grapes are known for their distinctive “foxy” aroma—a nostalgic, musky-sweet scent that calls to mind candied grapes, citrus blossom, and summer air. With juicy, fresh flavors of white grape, melon, and a touch of honeysuckle, Niagara wines are light, refreshing, and endlessly approachable.
Roaring Fork – Returning Soon!
We’re thrilled to announce that our beloved Roaring Fork will be returning soon to the tasting room! This semi-sweet white is crafted exclusively from Niagara grapes and offers a vibrant, fruit-forward flavor that fans have come to love. Named after the wild and scenic stream in the Smokies, Roaring Fork is crisp, bright, and full of Appalachian charm.
Stay tuned for release details—Roaring Fork is the perfect companion for warm-weather sipping, summer gatherings, and relaxing evenings on the porch.
Firefly – A Smoky Mountain Summer in a Glass
While you await Roaring Fork’s return, don't miss our seasonal favorite: Firefly. Inspired by thesynchronized fireflies now lighting up the forests near Elkmont, this semi-sweet blend of Blackberry and Niagara captures the fleeting beauty of a Smoky Mountain summer.
Firefly offers the juicy depth of blackberry fruit layered with the floral brightness of Niagara grapes. It's soft, sweet, and ideal for sipping under the stars as the forest glows with nature's own light show.
Stop In and Celebrate the Season
There’s no better time to visit the Smokies—and no better time to enjoy a glass of something sweet. Whether you’re here for the fireflies, the views, or the wine, we’d love to see you at the tasting room.
Raise a glass to Niagara grapes, the return of Roaring Fork, and the seasonal magic of Firefly.
Cheers from the Cove,
